Le driver nvidia a besoin des sources du noyau pour s'installer. Tu n'es pas obligé de recompiler ton noyau; dans une console tu tapes

uname -r

ca te donne la version de ton noyau. Ensuite tu installes le paquet kernel-sources-version.rpm (la version exacte, à la lettre/chiffre pres) que tu trouves normalement soit sur le disque de mandriva, soit sur le net. Fais une recherche avec le centre d'installation de mandriva.

C'est tout de même bizarre qu'il arrive au bout de l'installation si c'est ce problème de sources.

Avec mandriva il n'y a pas de kernel-headers, mais bien un paquet kernel-source.
D'autre part je voudrais ajouter que si on met à jour sa mandriva 2006 (ce qui est conseillé pour des questions de sécurité) on en est à kernel-source-2.6-2.6.12-18mdk

D'autre part, j'ai essayé de modifier le fichier xorg.conf comme ci-dessus, mais ça a comme conséquence de ne plus lancer l'interface graphique... Si quelqu'un pouvait me dire où se trouve le journal de ce qui se lance au démarrage, je pourrai vous donner le message précis.

En gros, il dit que il n'a pu lancer l'interface générique... Je ne me rappelle pas exactement.

Attention ! Je tiens à préciser que le log d'install ci-dessus est particulier. Il ne m'a affiché celà que la 4ème fois, APRES que j'aie téléchargé et installé le nouveau rpm kernel-source.

Avant celà, il FINISSAIT l'installation CORRECTEMENT, mais ne me lancait plus l'interface graphique, avec le même message d'erreur que quand j'ai changé le fichier xorg.conf.

Si quelqu'un a une idée... ?

que donne

Si ce fichier n'existe pas (ce qui est fort probable vu le message d'erreur) c'est que les sources ne se sont pas bien installées, car ici:
[rpmfind.net]
dans la section 'FILE', on voit que le fichier existe.

Ca vaut peut-être le coup de désinstaller le paquet, puis de le réinstaller. Tu peux aussi faire ce que propose P. Hoquet, installer le noyau 2.6-2.6.12-18mdk et les sources qui vont avec.

Ok, j'ai installé le noyau 2.6-2.6.12-18mdk et les sources qui vont avec.
Au redémarrage, il m'a installé le module nvidia avec succès apparemment...

Mais ma carte n'est toujours pas reconnue. En réinstallant le pilote nvidia, j'ai le même message d'erreur : heartbeat ERROR impossible d'initialiser le plugin générique...
