J'ai une debian 3.1.
Par aptitude j'ai téléchargé ALSA-modules correspondant à mon noyau (2-4-27-2-686) puis j'ai lancé alsaconf et voici ce que j'ai obtenu :
Would you like to probe legacy ISA sound cards/chips?
Là je réponds "oui"
puis
Probing legacy ISA cards might make │
│ your system unstable.
Je réponds "oui" de nouveau pour continuer
Shall I try all possible DMA and IRQ combinations?
│ With this option, some unconventional configuration │
│ might be found, but it will take much longer time.
"oui"...Puisque je n'ai pas à priori d'indications précises sur DMA et IRQ
Configuring snd-es18xx │
│ Do you want to modify /etc/modutils/sound?
"oui..."Tant qu'à faire puisque ma carte est détectée...
OK, sound driver is configured. │
│ │
│ ALSA CONFIGURATOR │
│ │
│ will prepare the card for playing now. │
│ │
│ Now I will load the ALSA sound driver and use │
│ amixer to raise the default volumes. │
│ You can change the volume later via a mixer
Bon, tout a l'air de bien se passer...Mais l'air seulement
Running update-modules...
Loading driver...
/lib/modules/2.4.27-2-686/updates/alsa/snd-es18xx.o: init_module: No such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
/lib/modules/2.4.27-2-686/updates/alsa/snd-es18xx.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.27-2-686/updates/alsa/snd-es18xx.o failed
/lib/modules/2.4.27-2-686/updates/alsa/snd-es18xx.o: insmod snd-es18xx failed
Setting default volumes...
Saving the mixer setup used for this in /var/lib/alsa/asound.state.
/usr/sbin/alsactl: save_state:1194: No soundcards found...
===============================================================================
Now ALSA is ready to use.
For adjustment of volumes, use your favorite mixer.
Have a lot of fun!
Un extrait de /var/log/syslog

et dmesg ne donne rien de plus.
Quant à alsamixer...
alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for default: No such device
