ATI et DEBIAN

Bonjour à tous,
j'ai un gros probleme. Je viens d'installer la debian sarge avec un noyau 2.6.8.
Ma carte graphique est une radeon 9800 pro avec les tous derniers drivers telecharges sur le site ATI (ati~.run soit 30 Mo). Mon serveur graphque est XFree 4.3.0.1.
Lorsque j'installe les drivers et que je les configure avec fglrxconfig, je reboote le tout, un gros probleme survient: le serveur X ne veut plus se lancer. Il me dit qu'il n'y arrive pas et que gdm non plus. J'ai essaye de resoudre le probleme pendant des heures et je n'y suis pas arrive et je me tourne vers vous. Bien sur, cela veut dire que je me retrouve en mode texte.
Deux questions se posent à moi:
_ comment enlever les drivers ati pour retourner en mode VESA? CAD la derniere configuration qui marchait.
_ ensuite j'aimerai installer de nouveau les drivers et que cela marche.

il s'agit d'une carte mere Asus A7N8x-X avec NForce2 mono canal.
Effectivement, au moment de l'installation de debian, il me demandait quel bus graphique j'avais et je devais y mettre du genre PCI:xxx:xxx ou bien ISA:xxx etc...
(les x sont les parametres que je ne connais pas. et dailleurs) , je navais rien pour determiner l'AGP puiqu'il ne me proposait rien.

Pour une nforce2 il doit falloir charger les modules "nvidia-agp" et "agpgart", vérifie si il sont chargés en faisant un "lsmod | grep agp".

Sinon, en attendant, remplace "fglrx" par "vesa" ou "radeon" ou "ati", si tu as les drivers, dans /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 pour avoir un affichage.

A priori tu doit avoir un soucis avec les devices (clavier et/ou souris), pourrais tu poster les sections "input device", correspondant à ton clavier et souris, de ton /etc/X11/XF86config-4. Ainsi que la section "ServerLayout".

Et vérifie aussi que tu as les modules "psmouse" et "mousedev" de chargé, et ajoutes les à ton /etc/modules si ils ne le sont pas.

Pour gdm c'est normal, il essaie de démarrer le serveur X, mais n'y arrive pas donc comme "gdm" a besoin de serveur X il te signale qu'il ne l'a pas démarré.

le clavier et la souris sont bien presents.
Le probleme vient de la configuration du port graphique. je suis sous AGP et c'est le bus PCI qui est declaré dans XF86Config-4 et pour gflrxconfig. C'est normal qu'il ne trouve pas ma carte graphique...
Je vais reinstalle debian mais je voudrais savoir la valeur du BusID pour l'AGP et pas pour le PCI. Debian me demande pdt la phase d'installation mais il ne met pas la valeur pour l'AGP (seulement pour l'ISA et le PCI). Pour vous aider il me configure par defaut en PCI (BusID "PCI:2:0:0). J'ai bien cherche par moi meme sur le web mais je n'est pas trouve.

L'erreur doit venir je pense de la déclaration de la souris comme dit plus haut, ton clavier peux bien marcher en console, et n'être pas bien déclarer dans le serveur X parce que les deux ne se font pas au même endroit.

Donc tu doit avoir deux souris de déclarer (une "configured mouse" et l'autre en " generic mouse") et c'est cela qui doit poser probléme.

Pour glx et dri, je n'en sers rien. Je tiens à precise que mon installation date d'hier et qu'elle est vierge de tout pollution (sauf fglrxconfig).

C'est normal les drivers d'ATI en ont besoin.

Ca doit venir de là :

Essaie en mettant "/dev/input/mice", puis si cela ne marche pas non-plus essaie avec "/dev/psaux", à la place de "/dev/mouse" dans la section concernant la souris de /etc/X11/XF86config-4.
