probleme nvidia

Bonjour, j'ai recemment fait la mise a jour system pour passer de la version 7.10 a 8.04 en ubuntu.

Mon probleme est que je n'arrive pas a mettre en marche l'acceleration graphique.les activer n'est pas primordial car a chaque demarrage j'ai un message d'erreur disant que je tourne en "low graphic mode".

A savoir que:- dans les pilotes proprietes, toutes les cases sont activées et marquées en utilisation.
- Si au demarrage lors du "low graphic mode" je choisit de changer le driver (vesa) soit pour tester le driver nvidia ou Nv. Si je change de driver sur ma session je n'arrive toujours pas a activer les effets et je retrouve le "low graphic mode" au demarrage.

je suis sur un pc portable hp pavilion zv 5475 EA

ma carte graphique:

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV17 [GeForce4 440 Go 64M] (rev a3)

Dans synaptic j'ai comme paquets activés: nvidia-glx
nvidia-kernel-common
nvidia-new-kernel-source
nvidia-settings

Ca ressemble étrangement à ce que j'ai constaté à l'installation de Ubuntu 8.04 : Billet d'humeur sur Nvidia.

vesa est un driver qui permet de "tester" une carte avec une gestion minimale.
Je pense qu'il te faut modifier ton /etc/X11/xorg.conf. Tu peux essayer la chose suivante :
- Sauvegarder la version actuelle du fichier /etc/X11/xorg.conf
- effacer le fichier /etc/X11/xorg.conf
- redémarrer le serveur X en espérant qu'il configure correctement ta carte graphique

Par ailleurs, ces effets graphiques te sont-ils vraiment utiles, ou le driver nv (libre) qui ne les supporte pas est-il suffisant ?

J'aime beaucoups la citation^^.

Pour les effets graphiques je doit avouer que j'avais testé ceux de mandriva one et j'avais trouvé ca sympa.Alors si je peut voir sous hardy heron.

Pour redemarrer le serveur X si je me trompe pas il faut fermer sa session et faire ctrl+alt+backspace non?

par contre pour faire une sauvegarde du fichier /etc/X11/xorg.conf
ainsi que l'effacer je dois avouer que je ne sais pas trop comment faire.

Faut pas avoir peur de la ligne de commande, et savoir éventuellement se servir d'un terminal virtuel (ou d'une session ssh) si les choses tournent mal.

Vu ta carte nvidia, fait attention à utiliser les drivers nvidia-legacy, je ne pense pas que les derniers drivers nvidia supporte cette carte.

a ok je vais tester alors c'est peut etre pas bete apres j'avais jeter un oeil sur le site francophone d'ubuntu ( je pense que je ne doit pas mettre de lien^^) ils conseillaient pour ma Geforce4 de prendre le driver :Special legacy dans le paquet :nvidia-glx

je vais tester car c'est assez bizarre vu que dans les pilotes proprietaires tout est cochés et marqué en utilisation^^

Pour le fichier a effacer j'ai fait la sauvegarde mais dans le repertoire j'en ai plusieurs donc jai fait une copie generale, dois je tous les effacer?

J'ai essayer de changer le driver avec new-glx ou legacy,... ca ma pas beaucoups avancö.a un moment j'ai recocher l'option accelerateur graphique il ma reinstallé nvidia-glx et viré le reglage actuel.j'ai reussi a avoir les effets visuels

mais ( oui il y a toujours un mais) ensuite c'etait vraiment l'anarchie dans le menu, probleme de resolution dans les fenetre, tout etait tres gros, l'icone firefox etait recouverte dans la barre en haut,j'arrivais pas a cliquer et faire ce que je veut dans les menus.

Meme sur la fenetre d'identification quand je met mon identifiant il s'ecrivait en tout petit.
Quand je suis en "basse resolution graphique" je pouvais avoir une resolution de 800X600 la je suis a max640X480

donc voila
dois je continuer a tester la methode avec le xorg.conf? ou autre
merci d'avance

et j'ai quand meme fait une copie manuelle a partir du repertoire dans un autre dossier.

ca fait quoi man xorg.conf?

J'ai remis l'accelerateur graphique en route. quand j'arrive a l'eran ou je met mon identifiant il me fait ecrire entout petit limite taille 2-3 . sinon quand je vais dans la partie systeme-preferences-resolution de l'ecran j'ai enfin acces a de nouvelles resolutions cependant c'est des resolutions inferieures a 640X480.

Fais une copie du xorg.conf qui marche.

Ensuite il faut faire des modifications du fichier /etc/X11/xorg.conf:

Les sections "input device" peuvent rester telles quelles.

Pour la section "device" tu en as deux il faut donc en supprimer une, et modifier celle qui reste comme ceci :

Pour les sections "monitor", pareil il faut en supprimer une et modifier l'autre:

Ce qui est barré est à supprimer et ce qui est en gras est à rajouter, pour les HorizSync et VertRefresh ce sont les plages de fréquences de l'écran de ton portable qu'il faut mettre pas 00.0 - 00.0 image : tcontent, tu devrais pouvoir trouver ces fréquences dans la doc de ton pc portable ou sur internet.

Pour la section "Screen", pareil tu en as deux supprimes en une et modifie l'autre:

Tu peux bien sûr ajouter d'autres résolution à la ligne "Modes", pour cela il faut regarder quelles résolutions sont supportées dans la doc de ton portable.

Pour moi dans ta section "ServerLayout" il manque le clavier en input device, mais si il marche pour l'instant ne la modifie pas, il doit le détecter automatiquement.

N'ayant pas de pc portable, je suis parti du principe que ça se configure de la même manière qu'un pc de bureau, je pense que tu avais des sections en double à cause de la sortie écran externe qui doit être présente sur ton portable. Pour moi il faut d'abord configurer correctement l'écran principal puis ensuite voir pour régler la sortie écran externe.

Si ceux utilisant des portables connaissent des particularités n'hésitez pas à les préciser. image: clin d`oeil

Fait bien attention pour les fréquences de l'écran, il ne faut pas mettre n'importe quoi (sous peine d'abimer l'écran bien que sur les matériels récents il existe des sécurités), renseigne bien les bonnes plages de fréquences.

Merci pour toute cette aide , j'aime bien bidouiller car c'est comme ca qu'on apprend mais bon des foi c'est pas simple.

Pour la frequence j'ai chercher un peu sur le net mais c'est pas simple pour trouver ( une longue histoire) alors j'ai regarder sur windows ( ah oui desolé j'ai oublié de preciser que j'etais en dual boot avec xp). et dans les parametres d'affichage j'ai trouvé que c'etait 60Hz.il y a t'il d'autres parametres a trouver? et sinon si 60 Hz c'est bon comment est ce que je le rentre dans les lignes que tu ma passé?

Tu n'es pas obligé de supprimer, tu peux les placer entre balises de commentaires, juste pour les garder au cas où.

ah pas bete apres je fait comment pour mettre en balise de commentaires? sinon au pire je copie les fichiers et si ca merede je les remplace par un copier-coller.

si tu pourrais me montrer un exemple d'ecriture histoire que j'evite de faire une betise^^.

Et sinon pour la frequence de rafraichissement je les place comment mes 60 Hz en fin si c'est bien ca.
